Tomatoes Day 5 – And two more shoots! Chun-Lin and Noah

It’s astounding how fast these guys are growing! This morning brought out the remaining two shoots – Chun Li and Noah as per my naming standards I hit upon yesterday. Here are the new arrivals:

Day 5: Chun Li and Noah (top and bottom)

Chun Li (Top) and Noah (Bottom)

They’re sure growing fast. Just for reference, this is what Fathima looked like today compared to yesterday:

Day 5: Fathima

Fathima's really explosive!

So now all my four seeds are saplings. Let’s wait for them to grow a bit more and then I’ll decide how to proceed further. Specifically, I’ll have to choose between planting them in the ground, or in separate gamlas.

  • Congratulations :) The names are very interesting, I love interesting names … our two dogs are Ms Mutt and Gabbar Singh, and our cat is called Sher Khan.

So you plan to start birding? Would love to see/read about what birds you have in your neighbourhood…

  • Finally! Someone who doesn't think I'm crazy naming the shoots :D

I definitely plan to start bird watching now that you say it's possible in the metros. Have a nice pair of binocs too (initially bought for astronomy) but of course can't take photos with them.

Have to see when I can start….

  • Delhi – in the locality where I live, has some doves and bulbuls and some sparrows too. We had a lot of green bee eaters in Pune and here near Sona (Gurgaon, NCR) too

Kingfishers, and Large Green Barbets – the ones I love to see are seen only in the mornings, and only sometimes. The noisiest and the most visible is the Pariah Kite, and there are a lot of them :)
