A lot of good things are happening in our country – some of us feel it instinctively. But we lose track of the changes, and only the feeling remains. This is a problem when we want to evaluate how far we’ve come – a problem which provides good ammunition to those who contend that nothing is getting better.
I decided to keep track of developments by creating a document which will update every time an important achievement occurs. The criteria for inclusion are:
The improvement must be real. Not planned
The improvement must be pan-India. Nothing regional
The improvement must be sweeping – something that makes a huge difference
Think it’s too much? That nothing like this has happened for years? Go take a look!
A few things that have been added are:
- Decriminalization of homosexuality
- The National Litigation Policy (NLP)
- The Direct Tax Code (DTC) and
- “Mission Undertrial”
Many achievements are left out. Please add those you know. It’s a public document and it belongs to you. You can leave comments on new changes in the “reply” section at the bottom if you don’t want to do it yourself.
The next time you have to defend India against those who say that it’s useless – you’ll know where to point them to. And every time you look at it, you can see how far things have come!
This is really interesting!! Brilliant idea!
I have no idea about Google wave…. let me check and see.

I’ve just added the wave to the bottom of the post IHM – you should be able to see it. Did you manage to visit it in your browser?
Wonderful idea Bhagwad and thanks for a great initiative…I will be watching the “wave” with interest…and hope to find stuff to add too.

Welcome here Shantanu! I read your blog regularly.
Please do add what you know to the wave – I’m sure there are many things I’m unaware of.
A very good idea but I can’t figure this wave thing out…How do I see it?

Aren’t you able to see it when you click on the link? Let me add your name to it…
