My Darts conspire against me!

I’ve started monitoring my practice on the dartboard by plotting my shots on a drawing application. This way I see a spread of my throws for each segment, find my weak points and track my improvements (if any) from month to month.

But I’ve also discovered a sinister plot against me. Something that’s revealed only because of my brilliant analysis. No doubt my darts thought they could hide this dirty little secret, but they don’t fool me – oh no indeed!

Observe for yourself. In this sample, I focus on the Double Seventeen segment, highlighted in yellow. Even the most untrained eye can see what’s happening. My darts are purposely missing the target! Rather than flying where I as their rightful master want them to go, they choose instead to bury themselves fractions of millimeters outside the target area, thereby frustrating me and trying to make me lose hope.

But they overplayed their hand. In their attempts to make me blow my brains out, they’ve unmasked themselves all too clearly. How could this be a natural spread I ask you? It’s mathematically impossible for the shots to outline the damn border as they seem to be doing – just kissing edge as it were.

This gives me hope. If they’re going to so much trouble to deter me from my goal of becoming world dart champion, they must know something. Perhaps they seen in me a quality that they thought extinct in the modern world. Such is their fear that they bend the very law of physics!

I’m not giving in. Though dramatic suicide did cross my mind once or twice, I’ve emerged stronger from the experience. Suck on THAT you scheming little monsters.

Back to practice now.

  1. Just learn how to play, won’t you? Next thing we know, you’ll start saying that Darth Vader’s been using the Dark Side of the Force to push them away from the bullseye. Meh.
