India needs more comedians – My first video post!

I’m tired of the way we Indians are always so careful not to tread on anyone’s toes. I’m talking about decent Indians of course, not hooligans like the Shiv Sena or Ram Muthalik or the Khaps. Here’s a video post I made that hopefully shows why we Indians need more comedians.

I’ve often thought that speaking in person creates more of an impact than writing. This is my first experiment with video. Let me know what you think :). Is it any better than writing a blog post? I’m also a noob at this so presumably my technique could do with a bit of polish…

  1. Bhagwad. In India Left is never right and Right is always left.

On a personal note, gud to see you after almost 6 years. You have grown a bit chubby and Frenchie doesn’t suits you. Continue with your video blog, that help me listen to your musing, and remember the old ICFAI days…

  2. Bhagwad I think Indians don't really mind being hurt or being laughed at, it's always some political or religious (sometimes they are both) leaders instigating them to feel hurt, and maybe if they still don't have the time or inclination to protest – then they are paid in cash and kind (liquor) to get hurt and burn buses etc.

Enjoyed listening to you :) I think it's a fabulous idea!

IHM, you certainly have a point. But I think politicians can only exploit what's already there, and we're pre disposed to being sensitive. I've tried to answer this question in my next blog post :)

I agree with you – Indians need to laugh at themselves…The most sensitive are our ego maniacal politicians…

Although we can’t stand people making fun of us, we don’t hesitate to make fun of others especially the helpless…

The question is, why are Indians so sensitive? Why don’t we have a sense of humour?
    I don’t know why but I’m sure you have a theory…Please enlighten me…

P.S. I’ve always maintained that most Indians can’t appreciate humour especially satire and black humour…
