Mangalore Thug: “Help – I’m the True Victim Here!”

Dear rights activists, feminists, and pseudo liberals,

I was among those who beat up the girls and boys at the Mangalore party. I’m shocked by everyone only focusing on them as if somehow they need help. Don’t you know? I’m the true victim here!

We proud sons of the soil cannot let others have fun. Why, you ask? Simple. It makes us feel inferior. I know very well that most likely I am inferior – but that doesn’t mean you have to throw it in my face. I know full well that you’re only partying and all to laugh behind my back and make fun of me only.

How Dare they Show their Face?
How Dare they Show their Face?

I was provoked and I demand sympathy. And when I am provoked, I have to respond. After all, thank god we live in a society that tolerates these things and understands the suffering someone like me goes through. I knew full well that I would not be punished and that all sorts of random people would defend my actions in the name of  “saving our culture”.

What I didn’t expect though was the help I got from the women’s commission! One after the other they kept defending me. Wow! Thank god finally someone is thinking about the victims – namely me.

Here’s a secret. I don’t give two shits about “culture”. I only care about my personal culture! All that is only a good excuse. Don’t these stupid party goers know that they can’t do anything? How was I to know beforehand that it would become a national TV event? I’ve been thugging for years now and everything has been more or less quiet only. My bad luck.

To my horror, I saw some of the guys stand up yesterday in front of the cameras and demand CBI action! Don’t these people know that they’re supposed to be ashamed? How are these fellows showing their face to the public? It should be covered by a black cloth – instead of that he’s happily exposing himself. What is the youth coming to these days?

Let me tell you now itself – I have no control. What else can you expect from me? I have a dog at home and my mother has trained him well! He won’t bite or bark at strangers no matter how much he may dislike them. But I don’t even have the same self control that my dog has – if I get provoked means that’s all.

Unless of course the other person is bigger than me. Then tho naturally I’ll keep quiet. You can’t expect me to go fight someone who can fight back now can you? Also I’ll make sure that I have lots of my friends with me. That way there’s less risk of me getting hurt. Plus I also need validation from them.

And of course, I won’t do it when I’m not 100% sure that I”ll be let off without a punishment. After all, provocation is a good excuse only when there’s no danger for me no? You people should be a little more understanding yaar.

Now excuse me. I have to go prop up my self esteem by hanging out with my goonda friends. Rumor has it we could all be in jail soon! This is what our country is coming to :(

  1. Is it only me or even others feel that they know we can make the mockery of everything by taking stupid excuses in our country. Though what you wrote is true. They are nothing but a product of inferiority complex. Sad to know that our country has a lot of tolerance for such morons.

It’s quite obvious she doesn’t care for women – or anyone for that matter. She’s equally indifferent towards the men who were abused as well.

I get the feeling she would rather have been one of the attackers! The kind of things she says could only have come from them.

  2. Its nothing else but a blatant mockery of justice, law and order. People in the top rankings of such departments like NCW do not know left from right anymore, they are simply functioning as zombies, programmed to say stuff like these. I am glad the real ‘victims’ stood up to the hideous acts in the name of ‘moral policing’.

The best thing to happen from this case is the guys coming out and standing up for themselves. Now if only the women were to follow suit, it would set a great precedent.

  4. I believe that Manjula knows that she is wrong but she is just following orders. She is supposed to save the offenders no matter what. No one in her right mind will make such a report and attract a backlash.
    Great post.

  6. Wow! At last, the thug is being candid. Now we know what his problem is. So we need not blame the provokers anymore. Sympathise with the guy. If possible let him join any parties being thrown around town. Advertise on his behalf for a kind of girlfriend for him. I am writing ‘ kind of’ because which girl would like to be his girlfriend unless she aspires to join NCW some day?
Thanks for bringing out The Thug’s point of view, however blinkered his vision /view is.

  7. This is why I recommend the Indian Penal Code institute a law allowing concealed-weapon carry for women (and eventually for all responsible citizens) who have every right to protect themselves against such tyrannical abuse. It’s pointless to expect the police to save your ass every time in a place like India. I liked the fact that there was reportedly a recent spike in women applying for gun licenses. About time the rapists, thugs, moral-policers, etc. took two to the skull.

I do agree that differentiated laws are bad, but statistics will easily show women are more victimized than men are. Eventually, I do indeed want EVERY (RESPONSIBLE) INDIAN CITIZEN to have the ability to protect themselves, instead of waiting for the corrupt law-givers and law-makers to save their asses, but as of now, I feel women need it the most, if only to tilt the balance and scare the bejeezus out of potential molesters and rapists. You can very well disagree with me on that because what I suggest is indeed discriminatory from an ideological perspective.

Just in case you wondered, I happen to be a strong supporter of 2nd amendment rights.

Thing is, where do we stop with differentiated laws? If north easterners are more at risk, do we create laws making it easier for the to obtain weapons? Dalits?

The worst effect I feel is that the law will formally acknowledge that there is a division in our society. That makes it concrete and will never end. Just like reservations will never end.

Entitlements are almost impossible to retract. Easy to implement, but incredibly tough to remove. And our lawmakers simply don’t have the guts to remove an entitlement once it’s given.

I never said anything about RETRACTION in this case. Only an extension in the future to include all peoples irrespective of faith, gender, sexual-orientation, ethnicity, race, etc. Protecting oneself against harm is an unalienable right, but I also understand a gun is not a toy and people who own them should demonstrate proper skills and realize the responsibility that comes with owning a weapon. I do advocate licensing for guns similar to driving.
