Mumbai Gangrape – My Country Accepts Animals as Citizens

Do they deserve to live with the rest of us?
Do they deserve to live with the rest of us?

I feel that we’re sharing our country with animals, not human beings. Actually, scratch that. Animals don’t revel in cruelty and while they’re selfish and sometimes do horrible things to other creatures, they don’t enjoy causing pain. That privilege is reserved for human beings alone. But I’m becoming increasingly convinced that some people don’t deserve to be called “human”. They look like us, walk like us, and can think, but they’re missing something essential – some kind of empathy for our fellow travelers on earth.

The horrifying details of the Mumbai gang rape case came to light in a piece in the New York Times and I can only surmise that these…things…who carried it out are of the same sort who committed the Nirbhaya atrocity. The way they pre planned it, and had carried out the same barbarity on several other innocents chills the blood. It’s not just the act itself, but the deliberate cruelty and utter lack of concern for the suffering of others that convinces me that these individuals don’t deserve to partake in what the rest of us call civilization.

I wouldn’t institute the death penalty, but I wish there was a kind of “no man’s land” separate from every civilization and isolated from every country where we can send them. Strip them of citizenship of every civilized nation on the planet and just dump their asses into a place where they can never sully our atmosphere or breathe the same air as us.

In the article when the reporter speaks with the mother of one of them, she says that “too much blame is being placed on the boys”. According to her, the girl “invited” this upon herself by wearing scanty clothing and being in such a place. According to her, “What was her son supposed to do? He lost control!”

I’ve long passed the point of being astonished at how women themselves can spout such crap. If it were not for the fact that mothers pass their attitudes and beliefs onto their children, I could ignore them completely. But forget about justifications and outdated attitudes for the moment. Let’s say they thought what they were doing was ok. Didn’t the cries, the distress and the obvious mental and physical agony of the victim mean anything to them? It’s one thing to intellectually think a certain act is justified. It’s quite another to deliberately ignore the acute suffering of another and continue to perpetrate it.

Strip them of citizenship of every civilized nation and dump their asses where they can never sully our atmosphere or breathe the same air as us.

But let’s not delude ourselves. They knew what they were doing was wrong. Which is why they told the victim not the report it to the police (and were confident that she would’t). Not all laws are created equal. We might go for a drive without taking our license and sheepishly admit it to our friends knowing that they will understand. But these pieces of garbage did no such thing. Their wives and mothers didn’t have a clue about what their precious boys were doing. This is not an example of simply not knowing right from wrong, good from bad, and human from inhuman. This is purely a case of individuals who don’t deserve to be called human.

I’m sorry, but I don’t want to share my country with people like this. By all means, let them have a fair trial and let their guilt be established without doubt. But it’s obvious they don’t agree to the most fundamental rules of our civilization. They neither care about breaking the law, nor they bother about the suffering of others. Get rid of them. Throw them out of our country, and let us be done with the whole gang. And all others like them.

I’m fed up with listening to justifications and rationalizations. Fed up with hearing about how it was the “woman’s fault” for whatever reason. It’s time we just decided what kind of people we want to share our space with. We can’t just accept someone because they were simply born here. To be part of our country and accept the fruits of civilization, you have to jolly well deserve it. And these monsters do not. End of story.

  1. All rapists should be shot, but because we live in a civilised world ( or we should be ) this scum have rights. Just lucky they don’t live in the EU or they would get off with human rights crap. Victims in the EU lower than the criminals.

  2. What makes rape different from any other crime? A law has been transgressed. Rape should carry a certain prison term and/or carry a death penalty, depending on the state of interest.

I agree, it wasn’t the woman’s fault. A crime occured and therefore must be dealt with.

I do want to say, however, that people in ANY part of the world do need to use common sense. For example, if a person goes to South Central Los Angeles screaming I HATE BLACK PEOPLE and expects to get out without a bruise, they should re-think what they are doing.

I’m not saying that rape is any different. I’m saying that in certain crimes when it’s obvious that a person doesn’t fundamentally accept the state contract of respecting people’s rights, then those people need to be expelled from the contract. This isn’t about making rape a special crime.

No state has such contracts unless it comes down to becoming an enemy of the state (ie being a traitor). As horrible of a crime as rape is, a rapist is not going to effect the security of the state in question. H/she simply needs to be punished by any means. Death, fines, prison, etc.

If the state does have such bylaws, then totally. You accepted a contract. Committing rape breaks the contract. Get out. I’m down for that.

  3. Ouch! Because I haven’t heard of a story where an ‘animal’ has been so brutal to any other human or animal as some humans have been with their fellow beings or animals…
The Indian judiciary has failed its citizens.Justice delayed is justice denied….
I read a joke being passed around on the internet.
A person would have been pronounced 10 yrs imprisonment for gay sex, by a judge….
    Accused : “No, I raped…..”
    Judge: “Oh, that’s better… 7 yrs imprisonment!”

Just as I typed out the above lines, I just looked up to know the exact imprisonment period…
    http://indiankanoon.org/doc/1279834/

    Aghast!
    376. Punishment for rape.–
(1)” Whoever, except in the cases provided for by sub- section (2), commits rape shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which shall not be less than seven years but which may be for life or for a term which may extend to ten years and shall also be liable to fine *unless the woman raped is his own wife* and…..”
Provided that the court may, for adequate and special reasons to be mentioned in the judgment, impose a sentence of imprisonment for a term of less than seven years.

What the heck! Imprisonment of less than 2 yrs if the wife is raped?
…. and what could be those *special* reasons to lessen the crime for those not listed below under that clause? There is *no justice* for a rape even if one turns to the judiciary…’Coz that is so unjust & unfair!
I feel so hopeless of the sad state of affairs… Makes me very sad.

Yes, it’s very depressing. Police reforms and a speeding up of court processes and cases is, in my opinion, the single biggest issue affecting our country right now. Justice delayed is indeed denied.
