The lokpal bill doesn’t need to address the “root causes” of corruption. It focuses on effective punishment of the guilty. Prevention of corruption is a different story altogether.
The Indian police and the government have the guts to only stop peaceful protests. When mobs actually turn violent, or threaten to do so they’re nowhere to be seen.
It’s shocking to see how many people support fake encounters in India. The Supreme Court’s observations that those involved in such murder should be hanged was mostly met with disbelief.

Excusing itself from corruption by pointing the finger at other people is unacceptable. You cannot claim that only those who are 100% clean can complain.
Politicians in India think that corruption isn’t a big deal and that there are bigger issues to fight for. They would rather we focused on something else.
